How "Green" is SendOutCards?
That's a good questions, and one we get asked quite often, especially since we're involved in the printing and paper industry. Let's take a look at a few company facts, and we'll let you answer that question yourself:- SendOutCards uses recycled paper to print our cards and uses recycled paper for our envelopes. In fact, if you check the back of our greeting cards, you'll notice the recycling logo that we've been given permission to add to every card.
- Less than 1% of the paper we order becomes scraps, and as a company we not only recycle our paper but our aluminum cans as well.
- Our iGen Printers meet the RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances directive) created by the European Union. This RoHS standard is stricter than many US standards.

So glad SOC has taken a Green focus. In BC where I live, recycling is a way of life, so when I speak to prospects I mention the fact that SOC is using recycled paper and acid free ink, folks are very happy to learn that. That fact alone helps people see why SOC is smart to join!
thanks

You can also mention the two longstanding 'green' aspects of SOC...
1. As a print-on-demand service EVERY card is used. With traditional cards, a huge proportion are never bought and sit idly on store shelves before being scrapped as excess inventory.
2. SOC cards go straight from printing to sending, avoiding all the environmental costs of distribution ie all those trains, planes, trucks and vans, to thousands upon thousands of small shops all across the US and the world.
SOC will always be the most environmental friendly way to send a card.
[And now SOC is printing in Australia rather than flying them across from the US, even that airline fuel is being saved!]
Great point Martin!
