SendOutCards and a PromptingSENT IN BY:
Jeanette McVoy
THEIR STORY:
Adam, a distributor with SendOutCards, posted a message on LinkedIn. His wife, Ellen, has a rare cancer and will be admitted to a treatment center in Florida for chemotherapy, followed by a bone marrow transplant. Without this treatment, she doesn't have much time and with it, the doctors say she has a 70-80% chance of making it to three years.
After receiving this message from Adam I sent him a card, Kody’s Promptings book and received the note below.
It's funny how things work. I had heard about Kody’s new Promptings book and was planning to purchase it. Then, I got a package from the SOC gift dept and opened it to find his new book! At first, I was confused because I thought that SOC had sent it to me but then I noticed the card with it. Tears came to my eyes as I read what you wrote. You really don’t know me, we’ve never met in person, but it is obvious to me that you care. You care about me and my wife and the situation we’re going through with her cancer and the upcoming treatment for it. That means so much to both of us.
I will read the book and I’ll read it out loud to Ellen. I am sure that Kody has written a wonderful book with inspirational stories. From both my wife and I, thank you so much for taking the time to show us that you care!

Adam will be with his wife in the hospital for about 4 months, starting Dec. 13. Please send Ellen your cards of love and support!

Jeanette,
We're in the hospital now and my Google alert pointed me to this link. What a great surprise to find what you've written here! You and your husband, Joe, are such wonderful people! SOC is full of such kind and caring people.
By the way, I noticed a typo in the address listed above, it's 46th Ave. instead of 48th Ave. So, here is the corrected address:
Ellen Schmidt
3200 SE 46th Ave.
Ocala, FL 34480
I thank anyone that takes a moment to send her a card to keep her spirits up. She's doing great right now as she just started the chemotherapy last night and the transplant is this Friday, but the nurses keep letting us know that she will soon start feeling sicker before she begins the recovery process.
Thanks again for posting this Jeanette!!! You're awesome!
God bless,
Adam Schmidt :)
Jeanette,
I noticed that you updated the address to where Ellen is in the hospital right now. We are in that particular room until roughly January 8th or so, perhaps leaving it sooner, as they will be putting us into another room in a building immediately next door to the hospital for the remainder of her recuperation. We do have family traveling back and forth that are bringing cards sent to our home, so for anyone that wants to send a card to Ellen, it may be best to send to her at this address:
Ellen Schmidt
3200 SE 46th Ave.
Ocala, FL 34480
She will definitely receive the cards. :)
And a HUGE THANK YOU for anyone that takes the time to life my wifes spirits during this rough time. Bless you.
Warmest regards,
Adam Schmidt :)
