THEIR STORY:
When Ella was four and a half years old she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She began chemotherapy in December 2008. This strong little girl lost her hair, had upset tummies, high fevers, too many days in the hospital and many questions about why someone gets sick. She finished her first round of chemo before Christmas and spent the holiday at home.

In January 2009, Ella was considered in remission, but she had to finish all of the chemo treatments. She spent her fifth birthday in the hospital recovering from one of her treatments. At the end of May, the family was home and done with treatments.

On a routine follow-up in late September 2009, they received the terrible news that Ella had a relapse. She began chemo again and they prepared for a bone marrow transplant. This Christmas, Ella was three hours away from home receiving the high doses of chemo to kill off her existing bone marrow and on December 28 she had the transplant. Ella is with her dad recovering.

Please send Ella a card to lift her spirits and give her the extra strength she’ll need to recover!
